Farm launches new business sponsorship packages - 30th June '10 E-mail

As a group of residents complete the first stage of a thriving new community farm on the outskirts of Peasedown St John, businesses are now being given the opportunity to get involved.

The new farm, which is almost unique in the area, is already attracting active participation from local children and their parents. In under 12 months there are now animals, the local youth club runs sessions from the site and Norton Radstock College has held workshops on the site.

Project managers have now launched a new initiative linked with the farm to both raise money and help promote local businesses.

One of the organisers, Cllr Nathan Hartley (Lib Dem, Peasedown), commented:

“Making any community project a success can mean gaining the support of different sections of the community, including the business sector.

During financial hard times, it’s important to support local business so the economy can get moving again, and at the same time community initiatives that bring people together are equally important.

This is why Peasedown Community Farm has put together two new Business Support Packages.”

The support packages give businesses the chance to:

·   Receive publicity for their sponsorship in the local area

·   Promote themselves on the Farm’s website, Facebook group and all promotional leaflets

·   Print their logo on the Farm’s travelling trailer

·   Hold stalls during future Open Days

·   Have 1,000 promotional leaflets delivered around Peasedown St John.

Nathan added:

“Our plans for the future include community allotments, a picnic area, a herb garden, flower beds, more animals and even greater community involvement.”
