Cafe owners welcome children and parents for art competition prize giving - 16th April '09 E-mail
The only cafe in Peasedown St John is celebrating 50 days since its opening at the end of February this year with an art competition for 3 age groups of primary school age children.
The prizes will be awarded by local councillor Sarah Bevan who advised on the planning application in the early stages and has been an active supporter of the venue ever since.
The cafe, close to Peasedown primary school, is a hit with parents before and after the school run, and with their children. It boasts plenty of space for buggies and art activities, leaving parents free to talk and read the plentiful supply of daily newspapers and monthly magazines.
Co-owner Jo said:
"We're thrilled that our cafe has been such a success so we thought we'd celebrate with an Easter art competition for the children. They've been so enthusiastic and it really helps the adults who come in here with them - they can natter away to their heart's content!"
The cafe serves sandwiches and cakes from local food suppliers, as well as specialist coffees and a variety of teas. Outside seating makes the most of sunny weather, and disabled access compliance means there are no holds barred for motormobility customers.
