Pigs in Peasedown - 14th May '08 E-mail
An innovative new art form has reached Peasedown Youth Club thanks to sponsor Gail Coleshill. The Youngsters have taken delivery of one of King Bladud's pigs to add to the growing number of pigs to be seen in Bath. This is an exciting project to add artistic interest to Bath and North East Somerset and has the added benefit of fundraising for the Two Tunnels Cycle route which will enable Peasedown people to cycle safely into Bath.

Artist in residence Rebecca Long of Writhlington school has already been given some interesting ideas for its decoration. She said "I can't tell you yet what the theme will be but you can be sure it will be a very smart pig."
Gail Coleshill is pleased to support the project being a keen cyclist herself.
She said "The nicest thing about this is that Peasedown youngsters will be designing the pig with the help of a talented local student who also lives in the village. It will be a proper Peasedown Pig."
The project follows on from other artistic projects at the Youth Club. Youngsters have just completed a silk painted Banner advertising the Peasedown Fun Day in July.
