Dear Editor, I have found it quite funny recently, hearing how our local Labour MP has once again resurrected the same old messages that ‘voting Lib Dem is a wasted vote’ and ‘Lib Dems can’t win around here.’ Where has he been recently? Just four months ago in the Local Elections the Liberal Democrats pushed Labour into 3rd place here in North East Somerset. On percentage terms Labour polled just 19% behind the Lib Dems 20%. Also in my ward of Peasedown – a former Labour heartland – his party only achieved 16% compared with 43% of the public voting Liberal Democrat. In fact, at the last three General Elections he has constantly told us that voting Lib Dem is wasted and unfortunately for him the message didn’t ring true for residents in 2005 when 3,000 Labour voters switched to Liberal Democracy. Imagine what the result would be if that happened just one more time. Yours faithfully,Nathan Hartley
