Last year Cllr Sarah Bevan met with officers to discuss improvements for local residents walking around the area, so that both local people and visitors to the village could find their way quickly and easily to the various amenities in both the new and older parts of the village.
Cllr Bevan said:
"These signs are smart and highly visible, making our parks and shops much more accessible, all of which adds up to a pleasant, and vibrant place to live. With the advent of new business ventures, such as the Audi and Mercedes show rooms and the much anticipated new health clinic in the business park, both local residents and visitors to our area will be encouraged to seek out the excellent local shops and parks on offer".
Future improvements include a make-over of the sometimes heavily congested Bath Road, and will include new parking arrangements, a new bus stop location and changes to traffic calming build-outs to minimise damage by delivery lorries.
Newly elected Cllr Hartley, age 22, added:
"I look forward to a boost to our local economy and this is the first step, giving a cleaner, more lively feel to the whole community."
