PARENTS' JOY AS SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL COMPLETED E-mail

Parents and children were delighted to find a much safer route to their school as they walked along the familiar path recently. The new signage for motorists also contributes greatly both to safety for residents and as an incentive to others to choose the healthy option for travel to school.

Cllr Bevan said:

"Cllr Coleshill and I, along with officers have been planning these improvements to the safe route to school for some months and I'm delighted as the results of all of our work. The 'STOP' letters on the pathway facing children and parents are especially effective in creating a good safety point before children reach Braysdown Lane."

The Liberal Democrats' 'Safer, cleaner, greener' campaign, launched a year ago, is starting to really show results for local residents now, who appreciate many aspects of this work, particularly the tidying up of derelict properties on the Bath Road, and the removal of long-standing graffiti from public and privately owned buildings, which local campaigner Nathan Hartley spearheaded last year.
