Simon Hughes MP Visits Peasedown St John for tour of improvements by local councillors E-mail
Simon Hughes, MP for Southwark and Bermondsey and the President of the Liberal Democrat Party made a lengthy stop in Peasedown St John last Tuesday as part of a tour of North East Somerset and Bath.

He asked to see the safe route to school and other improvements around the village, which Cllrs Sarah Bevan and Gail Coleshill have achieved during their first term of office as elected members. He was keen to see the rear entrance to the local school where Cllr Bevan suggested various low maintenance but attractive planting schemes
.
Local campaigner and Lib Dem candidate Nathan Hartley was also on hand to tell Simon about his recent anti graffiti campaign and other supporters included Ian Thorne and Hannah Davies who all helped to make the tour as worthwhile as possible.
Simon gave an interview for Radio 4's news programme the World at One while still in Peasedown and also took time to endorse the bio diesel business run by Rupert Bevan of Radstock and Mike Smith of Combe Down, whose bio diesel run Audi was on hand to show how local Liberal Democrats practice what they preach!
