Home Energy
Residents in Peasedown St John have been investigating the how to improve energy efficiency and use renewable energy installations in their homes. They have discovered that it is not easy. There are a mountain of rules and regulations, a plethora of businesses willing to provide it, planning guidelines to work out and no easy way.
Gail Coleshill, Council Energy Champion, is helping them by starting a series of meetings to supply information and provide a discussion forum for residents who want to combat the effects of climate change and save themselves some fuel costs. With soaring energy costs form fossil fuel providers many people are looking seriously at renewables and energy efficient installations.
The first meeting is in the Beacon Hall at 7.30 pm on Thursday March 1st when B&NES resident Ian Gilchrist will be explaining how he went about installing solar panels. The Greenpeace dvd will also be shown. This explains in a short 20 minute presnetation how other European countries are tackling the wastage in supply power lines and using renewable energy to boost national supplies.
